Definition of disease :

Clouding of the lens of the eye is called cataract. In this case, the lens with cataracts looks like a foggy or yellow window. Of course, the degree of cloudiness and its shape vary from person to person. Patients with cataracts should note that if the cloudiness is far from the center of the lens, the person may never notice the presence of cataracts.

Cataracts usually appear in middle age (45 years and older), although the exact age of cataracts cannot be stated.

The most common type of cataract occurs with age, but other common causes include:

A patient with cataracts, meaning the lens of his eye has become cloudy. In this procedure, the cloudy lens of the eye is removed and an artificial lens is placed in its place. This procedure is most often performed using the phaco method (a sutureless procedure), although rarely, the procedure may be performed using the conventional method with sutures.

Following surgery, it is very important to use prescribed eye drops. You should also wear a protective eye covering while sleeping and sunglasses during the day to protect your eyes. Do not rub your eyes.
For the first week of recovery, avoid strenuous activities such as exercising or lifting heavy objects. Also, be careful not to get any dirt or water in your eyes, as this can lead to infection. Blurred vision is normal for the first few days to weeks after surgery.
