✅ No dressings are placed on the eyes, only a piece of adhesive may be placed on the eyelid or corner of the eyes, which you should not touch.
✅ After eyelid surgery, the surrounding areas are swollen and bruised. Asymmetrical swelling between the two sides of one eyelid is not abnormal. In the first 48 hours after eyelid surgery, the swelling may increase, but it will gradually disappear. Also, eyelid swelling is usually worse in the morning, which is completely normal.
✅ After eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), you will be given a prescription that includes oral antibiotics, antibiotic eye ointment, cortisone, and painkillers. Please prepare the medications in this prescription before going to the operating room so that you have them ready after the surgery and returning home.
✅ During the first 48 hours after eyelid surgery, put ice in a freezer bag and place a clean gauze or cloth on the eyelids, then place the ice bag on the eyelid. Continue the compress until you feel no discomfort, and then repeat the process again after a while. Using a cold compress will help reduce eyelid bruising.
