Definition of disease:
The history of these implants began with the placement of artificial irises for genetic patients who had no irises in their eyes, or lenses that were inserted into the eye to treat cataracts.
On the other hand, many people used temporary colored lenses for beauty that were easily placed on the eye and removed whenever they wanted.
👈 Causes of the disease:
✅ Moles or spots on the iris
✅ Larger moles on the iris
✅ Lisch nodules, which are brown bumps that grow on the cornea.
✅ Inflammation of the tissues in the front of the eye
✅ ICE: A rare condition that affects both the iris and the cornea at the same time.
✅ A condition in which pigments are reduced behind the iris and accumulate elsewhere.
✅ A type of inflammation of the middle layer of the eye that may be caused by injury, infection, or contact with toxic substances.
✅ Cloudy blue or white rings on the cornea, which usually develop with age and due to a buildup of fat.
✅ Greenish-orange rings that are caused by Wilson's disease
👈 Surgical method:
The result of all these techniques was that artificial irises were made in three different colors so that people could permanently change their eye color and no longer have to put in and take out lenses.
These irises are easily placed in the eyes of a patient who does not have an iris, and it is a successful surgery whose complications are acceptable and justifiable.
However, when this type of artificial iris is placed on the iris of a healthy person, the possible risks cannot be justified. The surgery is an intraocular surgery, during which the artificial iris is placed on the natural iris in the front part of the lens of the eye.
Almost every surgery inside the eye carries a less than one percent chance of infection, and an infection inside the eye is not only comparable to an infection of the surface of the eye, but also to an infection of the hands and feet. Eye infection is equal to a high percentage of the chance of vision loss. But other complications include the development of premature cataracts. Because this colored disc is a foreign object in the eye and can damage the lens with every eye movement. High eye pressure, inflammation inside the eye, and frequent bleeding in the anterior segment of the eye are among the complications that are completely predictable.
