Definition of disease:
The retinal laser is a high-intensity, focused light energy generator that can precisely target the retina and does not affect other tissues in or around the retina. In many people, the laser, which is considered an advanced, non-invasive treatment, can preserve residual vision and prevent vision loss..
👈 Causes of the disease:
✅ Diabetic retinopathy
✅ Retinal vein occlusion
✅ Age-related macular degeneration
✅ Retinal detachment and holes
✅ Ocular tumors
👈 Laser method:
✅ Your pupils will dilate.
✅ Local anesthesia (numbing drops) will be put in your eye.
✅ If an indirect laser is used, you will need to lie on a table.
✅ If the laser is performed using a microscope system, a contact lens will be placed in your eye to hold your eyelids open and focus the laser beam on the affected area.
✅ You will see flashes of light during the treatment.
✅ The treatment usually takes 5 to 10 minutes.

👈 Postoperative care:
✅ Pain: Most patients have some pain after laser treatment. Patients who need more laser may have pain in or around the eye. If you feel uncomfortable after laser treatment, rest and take acetaminophen, ibuprofen, or another pain reliever.
✅ Blurred vision: Blurred vision is very common in the first few hours after laser treatment.
✅ Activity: There are activity restrictions after some lasers. The doctor will remind the patient of activities that should be limited.
✅ If pain increases or vision decreases, call immediately.
